Bacchus Handmade Japan Series WOODLINE DX4/E-BGP - 4 String Bass In Oil Finish and Black/Gold Hardware
Hand Crafted In Japan.
Since begining of Bacchus guitars, we have kept our effort to develop oil finish to acomplish ideal balance of tone and appearance for an electric guitar or bass. Precise wood works are required to do oil finish because the coating layer at surface is very thin and the state of woodworked body is directly linked to the state of the finished. This thin-coat finish optimize the tonal character of the light ash material, and would produce a clear attack and a wide range of tone.
-GOTOH 404SJ bridge-
The bridge GOTOH 404SJ is easy to adjust to suit your own playing style and offers a variety of settings. Strings can be set up through body or through bridge and offers players 2 choices of different string tension.
Besides the classical 2 volume and 1 tone control, the push-pull tone pot works as "Turbo switch" function. When pulled up, the 2 pickups are connected in series and would produce a more poweful tone.

ReviewsRob - Vancouver, BCI've owned this bass for about a month now. In my humble opinion, this is one of the nicest J-Basses I've ever owned. The tone and play-ability is fantastic. The craftsmanship, I would say, rivals or surpasses any USA built instrument. The fit and finish is superb (I've never seen a tighter neck pocket). This bass is a steal at $1579 and that's $300 cheaper than a USA standard J. The finish looks great, and this bass hands-down has the best fret finishing I've ever seen. It's even better than my $2600 StingRay's fretjob. Oh and it's extremely lightweight...I was surprised when I unboxed it. Also, the factory setup was almost perfect. My *only* complaints (and they're easily remedied) is that the control knobs could be of better quality. I'm going to replace mine (cheap and no big deal). Also, it comes with Elixir strings, which is totally personal, and also easily solved. If you're looking at an American built bass, I highly recommend checking one of these out. The Japanese luthiers in Nagano really know what they are doing.
