ReviewsBrad HarnishHigh quality workmanship that sounds great. Pre-amp allows for a wide range of tones. Looks great too. On the downside, since VSN is a warehouse operation, there is no showroom to try it out and it arrived needing to be set up. Thankfully the truss rod and intonation were fine, but the action was so low that a mosquito would have to be careful not to make the strings buzz. I am also disappointed in the lack of info on the Tune website. I have no other qualms. Bottom line: This is a very nice bass that is well worth the money.Bill Thompson
Outstanding QualityThis is a Korean made Tune TWB53 Bass. While there is some online debate in regards to quality comparisions between Japanese and Korean made Tunes and I don't have a Japanese Tune for comparision, I can state that this bass is of outstanding quality. I recently played out with this bass and had several people come up to me afterwards to ask about it. I have been playing bass for 40 years and own 35 basses, including some high quality instruments such as an MTD 535 and this bass is definitely of high quality. Unplugged, the body has good resonance and the quality of detail can be seen in the even frets, quality hardware, and overall construction. The Padauk (pronounced Pa Dook) wood looks great. Plugged in, the bass sounds great and the pickups are of high quality. There are no dead spots on the bass and it gets a wide range of sounds and easily cuts through the mix. Some YouTube demonstration videos of Tune Basses all seem to have the same midrange barking sound but this bass is capable of deep lows and sizzling highs. I also ordered the Tune hardshell case and am glad that I did as the bass fits perfectly. Overall, this is a great bass and well worth the money.
